Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
  • 1 large red onion (sliced)
  • 6 pineapple slices (fresh or canned)
  • 6 slices cooked turkey turkey bacon
  • 6 slices havarti cheese
  • Green leaf lettuce
  • 6 soft hamburger buns (brioche or Hawaiian)
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce
  • Optional toppings: tomato, bell pepper, pickles

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, soy sauce, and pineapple juice. Mix until well blended.
  2. Divide the mixture into six equal portions and shape each into a patty. Make an indentation in the center of each patty.
  3. Preheat the grill to 400°F. Grill onion and pineapple slices for about three minutes until charred.
  4. Grill patties for three minutes on one side, flip and cook for another two minutes. Add cheese on top during the last minute.
  5. Remove from grill and let burgers rest under foil for five minutes before assembling.
  6. Assemble by spreading mayo on buns and layering with grilled pineapple, onion, turkey turkey bacon, teriyaki sauce, lettuce, and other desired toppings.
