Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cups diced apples (peeled or unpeeled)

For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients

  1. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk until smooth.

Step 4: Combine & Fold in Apples

  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  2. Gently fold in the diced apples.

Step 5: Add the Cinnamon Swirl

  1. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  2. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
  3. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.

Step 6: Bake

  1. Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 7: Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Slice and serve warm with butter, honey, or a drizzle of caramel sauce!

Notes

  • Use fresh apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for the best flavor.
  • Do NOT overmix the batter—this keeps the bread soft and fluffy.
  • Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
