For the Bread:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 ½ cups diced apples (peeled or unpeeled)
For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk until smooth.
Step 4: Combine & Fold in Apples
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
Step 5: Add the Cinnamon Swirl
- In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
- Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
- Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
Step 6: Bake
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 7: Serve & Enjoy!
- Slice and serve warm with butter, honey, or a drizzle of caramel sauce!
Notes
- Use fresh apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for the best flavor.
- Do NOT overmix the batter—this keeps the bread soft and fluffy.
