  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small yellow onion (peeled & diced)
  • 1 small jalapeno (seeded & minced)
  • 3 cans (15 oz each) pinto beans (drained & rinsed)
  • 2 cups smoked brisket (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add diced onion and minced jalapeno, cooking until softened.
  2. Transfer the sautéed vegetables to a mixing bowl and mix in pinto beans, chopped brisket, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray and pour the bean mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  4. Bake for about 1 hour or until heated through.
  5. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
