  • 1 pound flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 teaspoon peanut oil
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 teaspoons dark soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper (ground)
  • 1 tablespoon grape juice
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pound lo mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil (divided)
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 cups Napa cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 medium carrot (julienned)
  • 1 medium red bell pepper (julienned)
  • 1 cup snow peas
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 3 green onions (cut into 2 inch pieces)

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, and other sauce ingredients.
  3. Marinate the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch for about 10 minutes.
  4. Heat peanut oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the beef until browned, then set aside.
  5. In the same wok, stir-fry mushrooms, cabbage, carrots, and bell pepper for two minutes.
  6. Add snow peas and bean sprouts along with the beef and noodles. Pour the sauce over and toss everything together until combined.
  7. Garnish with green onions before serving.
