Ingredients

Scale

For the Fruit Salad:

  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)

  • 1 banana, sliced

  • 1 cup green or red grapes, halved

  • 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced

  • 1 orange, peeled and cut into segments

  • 1 apple, diced (tossed in lemon juice to prevent browning)

  • ½ cup pomegranate seeds (optional for crunch and color)

For the Citrus-Honey Dressing:

  • Juice of 1 orange (about ¼ cup)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tsp poppy seeds (optional)

  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract (optional for depth)

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Fresh mint leaves, chopped

  • Toasted coconut flakes

  • Chia seeds or granola on top

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Fruit

  1. Wash, peel, and slice all fruit as needed.

  2. Place the chopped fruit in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2: Make the Dressing
3. In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, lemon juice, honey, poppy seeds, and vanilla extract (if using).
4. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.

Step 3: Toss & Chill
5. Pour the dressing over the fruit and gently toss to combine.
6. Let sit for 10–15 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
7. Garnish with mint or coconut if using.

Step 4: Serve Fresh
8. Serve chilled as-is, over yogurt, or with granola for a heartier breakfast.

Notes

Use Ripe, In-Season Fruit – Sweetness and texture are best when fruit is in peak season.
Cut Even Sizes – Helps with presentation and eating experience.
Dress Just Before Serving – Keeps fruit fresh and prevents sogginess.
Add Crunch at the End – Granola, nuts, or seeds add texture but should be added right before eating.
Store Smart – Keep bananas and apples separate if storing for later to prevent browning.
