  • 150 ml Milk
  • 4 Chai tea bags
  • 135 g Butter (softened, unsalted)
  • 135 g Light brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs (large)
  • 200 g Self-raising flour
  • Spices: Cinnamon, Ginger, Cloves, Cardamom, Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Warm milk and steep chai tea bags for 10-15 minutes to create infused milk.
  2. Preheat oven to 160C Fan/180C/350F and line a cupcake tin with cases.
  3. Beat softened butter and light brown sugar together until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
  5. Gradually incorporate self-raising flour and spices until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chai-infused milk.
  7. Fill cupcake cases evenly and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before frosting with spiced buttercream made from softened butter, icing sugar, chai-infused milk, and spices.
