Ingredients

Scale

For the Rollups:

  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional for a flavor boost)

For the Garlic Butter:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp dried parsley or 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Optional Dipping Sauces:

  • Warm marinara sauce

  • Ranch dressing

  • Garlic aioli

  • Spicy tomato salsa

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prep the Dough

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Unroll the crescent or pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.

  4. If using pizza dough, roll it into a large rectangle, about ¼-inch thick.

Step 2: Add the Cheese

  1. Sprinkle mozzarella (and cheddar, if using) evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  2. Gently press down to help the cheese stick to the dough.

Step 3: Roll and Slice

  1. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log.

  2. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice into 1-inch wide pieces.

  3. Place each rollup cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.

  2. Add minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  3. Stir well and let it heat for 1 minute to infuse the flavors.

  4. Remove from heat.

Step 5: Brush and Bake

  1. Brush each rollup generously with the garlic butter.

  2. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  3. For extra flavor, brush again with any leftover garlic butter right after baking.

Step 6: Serve Warm

  1. Transfer to a serving plate.

  2. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

  3. Enjoy the warm, cheesy goodness with every bite!

Notes

Use Fresh Dough – Crescent or pizza dough works great, but fresh dough yields softer rollups.
Cheese Variations – Try provolone, Monterey Jack, or even pepper jack for a spicy version.
Don’t Overfill – Too much cheese can cause the rollups to open or leak.
Brush Twice – One coat before baking and one after gives them extra garlic flavor and shine.
Add a Crunch – Sprinkle with a little Parmesan before baking for a golden crust.
