  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1½ tsp almond extract
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cherry extract
  • ½ cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup pecans, finely ground
  • 4½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Beat together the butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Mix in the salt, almond extract, vanilla extract, and cherry extract.
  3. Fold in the chopped cherries and ground pecans until evenly distributed.
  4. Gradually add the flour until fully incorporated; adjust with more flour if necessary.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips gently.
  6. Chill the dough for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Roll dough into balls (about 1½ tablespoons each) and place on the baking sheet an inch apart.
  9. Bake for about 15–17 minutes or until lightly golden.
  10. Cool slightly before transferring to a cooling rack; then roll in powdered sugar before serving.
