Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- ½ lb deli ham, sliced and chopped
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Step 2: Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped deli ham, shredded Swiss cheese, egg, breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
Step 3: Shape the Meatloaf
Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape it into a uniform loaf.
Step 4: Bake the Meatloaf
Place the loaf pan on a baking sheet to catch any drips, then bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes after removing it from the oven. Slice into thick pieces and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Don’t Overmix: Be careful not to overmix the ingredients, or the meatloaf may become tough.
- Add More Cheese: Feel free to add extra cheese inside the meatloaf for a gooier, cheesier center.
- Use Fresh Ham: Opt for fresh deli ham instead of pre-packaged sliced ham for better flavor and texture.
- Rest the Meatloaf: Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to help it hold together better.
