Description

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken breast
  • Garlic powder, salt & pepper
  • Provolone cheese
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, add oil and butter. Sauté green peppers and onions with crushed bouillon until soft (about 15 minutes). Stir in brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix shredded chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add chicken mixture to skillet; stir well and cook for another 5 minutes until heated through.
  5. In a baking dish, place bottom halves of Hawaiian rolls. Layer with half of provolone cheese, then chicken mixture, followed by the remaining cheese. Top with roll halves.
  6. Brush tops with melted butter mixed with Italian seasoning.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and tops are golden brown.
