  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • ½ cup green peas
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1½ cups low-sodium chicken stock
  • ¼ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp Chinese five spice
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp plain flour

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken and season with soy sauce and white pepper.
  2. Prepare the vegetables by slicing the onion and bell pepper; chop the garlic.
  3. In a medium pot, whisk together chicken stock, turmeric, curry powder, Chinese five spice, chili powder, corn starch, plain flour, salt, and sugar.
  4. Heat the mixture on medium-low until it thickens; set aside.
  5. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the chicken until cooked through.
  6. Add garlic, onion, bell pepper, and green peas; cook for an additional few minutes.
  7. Pour in the curry sauce; stir well and let cook together briefly.
  8. Adjust seasoning as needed before serving over steamed rice.
