Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts (cooked & diced)
  • 8 ounces Orzo Pasta
  • 2 Celery Stalks (finely diced)
  • 2 Carrots (finely diced)
  • ½ Yellow Onion (finely diced)
  • 5 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • ½ cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Chicken Bouillon Powder
  • 1/3 cup All Purpose Flour

Instructions

  1. Cook orzo according to package instructions until al dente. Season chicken with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook seasoned chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Dice into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Add diced onion, carrots, and celery; sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened. Reduce heat to low and sprinkle flour over vegetables while whisking until it forms a roux.
  3. Stir the roux for 2-3 minutes, then gradually add chicken broth and bouillon powder along with heavy cream. Whisk until smooth and thickened.
  4. Stir in diced chicken and let simmer until veggies are tender. Drain cooked orzo and fold into the skillet mixture until combined.
