Ingredients
2 tbsp instant coffee (regular or decaf)
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp hot water
1 cup milk (any kind – dairy or plant-based)
Ice cubes (if serving cold)
Optional Add-ins:
½ tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of cinnamon or cocoa powder
Sweetener of choice (if adjusting sugar)
Instructions
Step 1: Combine Coffee, Sugar & Water
In a mixing bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in equal parts—2 tablespoons each.
Use freshly boiled water for the best results.
Step 2: Whip to Frothy Perfection
Whisk vigorously by hand (takes 8–10 minutes), or use a hand mixer (2–3 minutes) until the mixture turns thick, light brown, and forms soft peaks.
It should be creamy, glossy, and hold its shape like whipped cream.
Step 3: Prepare the Milk Base
Fill a glass with ice if serving iced, or warm your milk if serving hot.
Pour 1 cup of your preferred milk into the glass or mug, leaving space at the top for the whipped topping.
Step 4: Add the Whipped Coffee
Spoon the whipped coffee over the milk.
Swirl it into the milk or leave it as a layered topping for visual flair.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle with a little cocoa powder, cinnamon, or chocolate shavings if desired.
Serve with a spoon or straw and enjoy as the whipped coffee slowly blends into the milk.
Notes
Use Instant Coffee – Ground coffee won’t whip. Only instant works for the froth.
Stick to Equal Ratios – 1:1:1 of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water is the magic formula.
Use Cold Tools – If whipping by hand, chill your bowl and whisk to speed things up.
Adjust Sweetness – Add more or less sugar to suit your taste.
Serve Immediately – Whipped coffee is best fresh for the lightest, fluffiest texture.
