Ingredients
For the Monkey Bread:
2 cans (16.3 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
¾ cup packed brown sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings:
½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
½ cup raisins or dried cranberries
Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a bundt pan generously with non-stick spray or butter. Make sure to get into all the crevices to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Cut the Biscuits
Separate the biscuit dough into individual biscuits.
Cut each biscuit into quarters and set aside.
Step 3: Coat the Dough
In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together.
Toss the biscuit pieces in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
Step 4: Layer the Dough
If using nuts or dried fruit, sprinkle a little into the bottom of the bundt pan.
Layer the coated biscuit pieces into the pan, adding more nuts or fruit between layers if desired.
Step 5: Make the Caramel Sauce
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and combined.
Remove from heat and pour the sauce evenly over the biscuit pieces in the pan.
Step 6: Bake
Place the pan in the preheated oven.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with aluminum foil during the last 10 minutes.
Step 7: Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
Carefully invert the monkey bread onto a serving plate.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
Use Fresh Dough – Fresher dough gives a softer, fluffier texture.
Don’t Overbake – Check doneness by gently pulling apart a few pieces; they should not look doughy.
Customize the Flavors – Add a sprinkle of nutmeg or pumpkin spice for a seasonal twist.
Serve Warm – Monkey bread tastes best when warm and gooey right out of the oven.
