Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 2 packets brown gravy mix
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties about 3/4 inch thick.
  3. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the patties for about 3 minutes on each side until browned and nearly cooked through.
  4. Remove the patties from the skillet and keep warm under foil.
  5. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and sauté sliced mushrooms for 5-6 minutes until tender.
  6. Stir in brown gravy mix and water, whisking until smooth. Add ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for another 7-10 minutes until fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 160°F).
  8. Adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
