  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 ounce onion soup mix
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 10 ounces cooked egg noodles
  • 8 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 ½ cups crispy French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a nonstick skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until it's no longer pink, adding the onion soup mix halfway through.
  3. Transfer the cooked beef to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving some fat in the pan. Add sliced onions and caramelize for about 5–8 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and return the ground beef to the skillet. Mix in both cans of mushroom soup and bring to a simmer; remove from heat and fold in cooked egg noodles.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, top with shredded Swiss cheese and crispy fried onions.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
