Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 ounce onion soup mix
- 1 medium onion (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 10 ounces cooked egg noodles
- 8 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 ½ cups crispy French fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a nonstick skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until it's no longer pink, adding the onion soup mix halfway through.
- Transfer the cooked beef to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving some fat in the pan. Add sliced onions and caramelize for about 5–8 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and return the ground beef to the skillet. Mix in both cans of mushroom soup and bring to a simmer; remove from heat and fold in cooked egg noodles.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, top with shredded Swiss cheese and crispy fried onions.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
