Ingredients

Scale

For the Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

For the Sandwiches:

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread (or brioche for extra indulgence)

  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam

  • 2 eggs

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • Butter or oil, for frying

For Garnish:

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)

  • Extra strawberries or strawberry syrup

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Cheesecake Filling

  1. In a bowl, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  2. Set aside while you prep the sandwiches.

Step 2: Assemble the Sandwiches
3. Lay out the bread slices on a clean surface.
4. Spread a generous layer of cheesecake filling on half the slices.
5. In a small bowl, combine chopped strawberries with strawberry jam.
6. Spoon strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer.
7. Top with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
8. Press the edges gently and trim crusts if desired.

Step 3: Make the Egg Wash
9. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

Step 4: Dip & Fry
10. Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat.
11. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, coating both sides like French toast.
12. Place in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp.
13. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve
14. Dust fried sandwiches with powdered sugar.
15. Serve warm with whipped cream, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or extra strawberries on the side.

Notes

Use Soft Bread – White sandwich bread or brioche works best and seals easily.
Seal the Edges – Press the edges gently to keep filling from leaking while frying.
Don’t Overstuff – A little filling goes a long way and prevents spills.
Fry in Batches – Give each sandwich room in the pan to crisp up evenly.
Serve Immediately – They’re best hot, fresh, and slightly gooey inside.
