Ingredients
-
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp salt
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Optional Add-ins:
-
¼ cup shredded mozzarella for extra cheesiness
-
Crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
-
A sprinkle of sesame or poppy seeds on top
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Step 2: Prepare the Butter Mixture
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Step 3: Prepare the Puff Pastry
Roll out the puff pastry sheet lightly on a floured surface if needed.
Brush the top of the pastry with the garlic butter mixture.
Step 4: Add the Parmesan
Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered pastry.
Step 5: Cut & Shape
Cut the puff pastry into squares about 2×2 inches.
Take each square and gently pinch the corners together to form little puffs.
Step 6: Bake
Place the puffs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Step 7: Garnish & Serve
Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley while still warm.
Serve immediately for the best crispy texture.
Notes
Use Cold Puff Pastry – It puffs better if it’s still slightly chilled.
Don’t Overfill – A light sprinkle of cheese is perfect to avoid leaks.
Watch Closely Toward the End – Puff pastry can brown quickly.
Serve Fresh – Best enjoyed warm right after baking.
Customize the Flavor – Add herbs, cheese blends, or a sprinkle of chili flakes.
