Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground turkey (or beef)
- 4 cups diced potatoes
- 8 oz canned tomato sauce
- Olive or avocado oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground turkey (or beef). Use a spatula to crumble the meat while it cooks until browned. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, and oregano. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Add oil to the skillet and then the diced potatoes. Sauté on medium-high heat for 5 to 10 minutes until browned.
- Reduce heat to medium and return the cooked turkey to the skillet along with tomato sauce, water, minced garlic, oregano, basil, parsley, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if desired before serving.
