Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices turkey turkey bacon
  • 1 large white onion (finely diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 500g ground beef
  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 250g dried macaroni
  • 480ml beef stock
  • 480ml whole milk (at room temperature)
  • spices: paprika, dried oregano, salt, black pepper
  • 150g cheddar cheese (grated)
  • fresh chives (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large deep pot, cook the turkey turkey bacon over low-medium heat until crisp. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  2. Increase heat to medium and sauté the diced onion in the leftover fat until golden. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Brown the ground beef in the pot, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  4. Stir in tomato puree, hot sauce, and yellow mustard; cook for about one minute before adding the dried macaroni.
  5. Pour in beef stock and whole milk; season with paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer gently until sauce thickens and pasta is al dente.
  6. Reduce heat to low; stir in cheddar cheese until melted along with chopped chives and diced turkey turkey bacon. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
