Ingredients
- 400 grams boneless chicken breast or thigh
- ¼ tsp white pepper
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 4 tbsp honey
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2–3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Cut chicken into bite-size pieces and combine with egg, soy sauce, and white pepper in a bowl. Coat with cornstarch.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (180°C) and fry chicken pieces until lightly golden. Remove and cool briefly before double frying until crispy.
- In a pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic. Add honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry; stir until thickened.
