  • 400 grams boneless chicken breast or thigh
  • ¼ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 23 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-size pieces and combine with egg, soy sauce, and white pepper in a bowl. Coat with cornstarch.
  2. Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (180°C) and fry chicken pieces until lightly golden. Remove and cool briefly before double frying until crispy.
  3. In a pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic. Add honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry; stir until thickened.
  4. Toss fried chicken in the glaze until well coated before serving.
