Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt

  • ¾ cup hot fudge sauce (room temperature)

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Optional Toppings:

  • Extra hot fudge sauce

  • Powdered sugar

  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles

  • Scoop of vanilla ice cream

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.
Stir in sour cream and ½ cup of the hot fudge sauce until smooth.

Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients.
Stir just until no dry streaks remain.
Fold in the chocolate chips.

Step 5: Layer with Fudge
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of hot fudge sauce over the batter.
Swirl gently with a knife or toothpick.
Top with remaining batter and a final drizzle of fudge (optional).

Step 6: Bake
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil during the last 10 minutes.

Step 7: Cool and Serve
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Serve warm with extra fudge, powdered sugar, or ice cream.

Notes

Don’t Overmix – Stir just until combined for the perfect crumb.
Room Temp Fudge – Helps it swirl and melt evenly.
Use High-Quality Cocoa – Makes a big difference in flavor.
Slightly Underbake – For an extra fudgy texture.
Cool Before Slicing – Helps slices hold together (if you can wait!).
