3 cloves garlic, minced

1 lb ground beef or ground chicken

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

4 cups green cabbage, chopped (about ½ a medium head)

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 tbsp tomato paste

1 tsp sugar (balances the acidity)

1 cup cooked white or brown rice

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional)

Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Sauté the Aromatics and Meat

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and cook for 4–5 minutes, until softened.

Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.

Add ground beef, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes.

Step 2: Add the Cabbage and Tomatoes
