Ingredients
For the Mini Cheeseburgers:
1 lb ground beef
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
12 slider buns or small dinner rolls
6 slices cheddar cheese, halved
12 lettuce leaves (small pieces)
12 tomato slices (thin)
Pickles (optional)
For the Tater Tots:
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
Non-stick cooking spray
For Assembly:
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp mayonnaise
Toothpicks
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Tater Tots
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake according to package directions, about 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Beef Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Mix gently until just combined—don’t overmix.
Divide into 12 small patties, slightly larger than your buns as they will shrink when cooked.
Step 3: Cook the Patties
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Cook the patties for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until fully cooked through.
During the last minute of cooking, place a half-slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
Step 4: Toast the Buns
Optional but recommended: Lightly butter the inside of each bun and toast on the skillet until golden brown.
Step 5: Assemble the Mini Cheeseburgers
Spread a little ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun.
Layer with lettuce, a cheesy burger patty, tomato slice, and a crispy tater tot.
Add the top bun and secure each mini burger with a toothpick.
Step 6: Serve
Arrange the mini cheeseburgers on a platter and serve immediately while warm and crispy.
Notes
Don’t Overcook – Keep the patties juicy by not overcooking them.
Customize Toppings – Add sautéed onions, avocado slices, or a drizzle of barbecue sauce.
Use Small Buns – Slider buns or Hawaiian rolls are perfect for mini burgers.
Prep Ahead – Cook the tater tots and patties ahead of time and assemble just before serving.
