Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 3–4 pound beef chuck roast
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 medium white onion (diced)
- 2 Tbsp onion soup mix
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 16 oz. egg noodles
- Fresh parsley (for garnishing)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Pat the beef dry, season with salt and pepper, and sear until browned on all sides.
- Remove the beef and sauté diced onions and minced garlic in the same pot until fragrant.
- Return the beef, add onion soup mix, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce; stir gently.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 3-4 hours until the beef is tender.
- Cook egg noodles in salted water until al dente during the last hour of cooking.
- To thicken the sauce, combine cornstarch with water, stir into reserved cooking liquid, and cook until thickened.
- Slice or shred beef, return to sauce, serve over noodles, and garnish with parsley.
