  • 2 tablespoons frying oil
  • 7 ounces cremini mushrooms
  • 1/4 broccoli head
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 green onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 24 ounces store-bought chicken dumplings
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seed oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients: Slice mushrooms, cut broccoli into florets, julienne carrot, grate ginger and garlic, and slice green onions.
  2. In a large pot over high heat, add frying oil until hot. Sauté mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, and white parts of green onions for about two minutes until softened.
  3. Add grated garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes; cook for one minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth; bring to a boil then reduce heat to simmer for five minutes.
  5. Add dumplings to the pot and cook as per package instructions (typically three minutes).
  6. Stir in soy sauce and toasted sesame seed oil; garnish with remaining green onions before serving.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
