  • 3/4 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground turkey sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked; drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, grits, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and honey until combined.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients; stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in cooked turkey sausage and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease muffin tin.
  7. Fill each muffin cup evenly with batter.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
