Ingredients
For the Beef & Seasoning:
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp smoked paprika
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
For the Pasta & Sauce:
-
2½ cups uncooked short pasta (penne, shells, or rotini)
-
3 cups beef broth (or chicken broth)
-
½ cup tomato sauce
-
½ cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
-
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
For Garnish:
-
Fresh parsley, chopped
-
Extra parmesan for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef
Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–6 minutes.
Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking for another 2–3 minutes until softened.
Season with Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Step 2: Add Pasta and Liquid
Stir in the uncooked pasta, beef broth, and tomato sauce.
Mix well and bring to a gentle boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
Step 3: Stir in the Cream & Cheese
Once the pasta is cooked, reduce heat to low.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
Add mozzarella and parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 4: Garnish & Serve
Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley and extra parmesan.
Serve hot and enjoy this rich, satisfying meal straight from the skillet.
Notes
Use Short Pasta – Penne, rotini, or shells work best to hold the sauce.
Stir Often – This helps prevent pasta from sticking to the bottom of the skillet.
Cheese Matters – Use freshly grated cheese for best melt and texture.
Don’t Overcook the Pasta – Cook until just tender to avoid mushy results.
Customize the Heat – Add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce if you like spice.
