  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (frozen for 30 minutes)
  • ¾ cup cold heavy whipping cream (plus more for brushing tops of biscuits)
  • ¾ cup cold whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Turbinado sugar (coarse sugar), optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries by washing, slicing them, and mixing with granulated sugar. Let sit for 30 minutes to macerate.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in frozen butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in heavy whipping cream, whole milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, brush with cream, sprinkle with sugar if desired, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
