  • 1 white onion (peeled & thinly sliced)
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ⅓ cup flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 pkg medium egg noodles
  • 4 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, add canola oil and ground beef seasoned with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Cook until meat is browned.
  3. Add sliced onions to the pot and cook until onions are softened.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together whole milk and chicken broth until smooth. Gradually pour into the meat mixture while whisking constantly.
  5. Let the gravy simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  6. Combine drained pasta with butter until melted and mixed well.
  7. Serve buttered noodles topped generously with beef gravy.
