  • 1 1/2 cups Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Dark Corn Syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups Butter, Melted
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 4 cups Pecan Halves
  • 1 (15.25 oz) White Cake Mix
  • 1 cup Hot Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together dark brown sugar, dark corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Gently fold in three cups of pecans. Spread this mixture into the prepared pan.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the white cake mix over the pecan layer.
  5. Drizzle remaining melted butter over the cake mix and then sprinkle with additional brown sugar.
  6. Carefully pour hot water over everything, tilting the pan to distribute.
  7. Top with remaining pecans, then bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and slightly jiggly in the center.
  8. Let it cool before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
