Ingredients
For the Beef Marinade:
• 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
• 1 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp cornstarch
• 1 tsp sesame oil
For the Sticky Sauce:
• ¼ cup soy sauce
• 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
• 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or more hoisin if preferred)
• 1½ tbsp honey or brown sugar
• 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
• 1 tsp garlic, minced
• 1 tsp ginger, grated
• 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for slurry)
For the Stir Fry:
• 8 oz egg noodles, ramen, or rice noodles (cooked according to package instructions)
• 2 tbsp vegetable oil
• 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
• 1 small carrot, julienned
• 2 green onions, sliced
• Sesame seeds and chopped cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil.
Mix well and let sit for 10–15 minutes while you prepare the sauce and noodles.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
Set aside. Prepare the cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water) in another small bowl.
Step 3: Cook the Noodles
Cook noodles according to package directions.
Drain and set aside. Drizzle with a little oil to prevent sticking if not using immediately.
Step 4: Stir-Fry the Beef
Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
Add the marinated beef in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and just cooked through.
Remove from skillet and set aside.
Step 5: Stir-Fry the Veggies
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed.
Sauté bell pepper and carrots for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
Step 6: Combine Everything
Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce and bring to a simmer.
Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 1–2 minutes.
Add the cooked noodles and toss to coat everything evenly in the sticky sauce.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
Top with green onions, sesame seeds, and chopped cilantro if desired.
Serve hot and enjoy every sticky, savory bite.
Notes
Slice Beef Thin – It cooks faster and stays tender.
High Heat is Key – For a great sear and fast cooking.
Don’t Overcrowd the Pan – Sear the beef in batches if needed.
Use What You Have – Swap veggies for broccoli, snow peas, or cabbage.
Noodles Matter – Use any kind you like, just avoid overcooking.
